You Are The Peanut To My Butter - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with another Cocoa Vanilla Studios  Endless Summer layout. This gorgeous collection is a new favorite of mine. I just love the pastel color palette. Like all Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections it is versatile enough to use for photos other than summer fun. My inspiration for this layout was the "so Sweet" puffy sticker. What could be sweeter than young love? Here is my layout...

I wanted to use the ombre pink Sunbleached pattern paper underneath a cut file and I found this poem that I love; "You are the Peanut to my Butter, Milk to my Shake, Twinkle in my Eye, Beat of my Heart". There is lots more to this adorable quote but I only have a 12x12 layout, lol. I love the variation in color from top to bottom throughout the quote.

My photo is embellished with that "so Sweet" puffy sticker as well as stickers, paper blooms, flair, wood veneer, enamel shapes, and woodies.

My title starts off with a die cut "You" using the Sweet Treats pattern paper, then I used stickers from the Life is Beautiful and Hello Lovely collections. Some clouds and arrows from the die cut ephemera keep things interesting as well as more enamel shapes, woodies, and another cloud puffy sticker.

I really love how this layout turned out with that subway art title. Of course, I added a few more embellishments over the words.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Just remember the Cocoa Vanilla Studio store is closed through Monday December 12th. Orders can still be placed and will be shipped starting on December 13th. Have a great week!

Grateful - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

This week, with Thanksgiving looming for us in the States, we are focusing on things to be thankful for on the JustNick Studio blog. Of course I am grateful for my parents who just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary! Whenever I asked them for help in the past, they were there for me; babysitting, dog sitting, you name it. But this past summer, those tables were turned. My Dad needed emergency surgery and for weeks following could not do his own yard work. He needed help! Thankfully it was only a couple weeks and my siblings and I are close enough that we could all help out. So this November, I am extremely grateful that my Mom and Dad are still around for me to enjoy.

I used the Infinity Hearts digital cut file to frame the photo of my parents. Then I added the heart border from the Hearts digital cut file on the right side under the so very blessed project life card. My title "Grateful" came from the new Many Thanks digital cut file.

Here are the digital cut files I used today:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! For those in the States, Happy Thanksgiving!!

Sand, Sun, & Surf - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I know it is Fall here in the States, but in Australia, it is Summer! And Cocoa Vanilla Studios just released the most gorgeous collection called Endless Summer. I am crushing on the flamingos and pretty flowers so I put them to good use on this page. The pastels in Endless Summer are a welcome change from other summery collections and are perfect for my seaside photos. These photos were taken on a Spring Break vacation in Sarasota Florida. My daughter does like to ham it up just a bit for the camera. The silhouettes against that gorgeous sunset are definitely eye-catching though.

I used a light peach with white polka dot paper for my background. I love how it brought out the orange of the sunset. Frames from the die cut ephemera pack accentuate my photos nicely. Then I created clusters of embellishments using silhouette die cuts, gorgeous flowers from the ephemera pack and flower pack, woodies, and enamel dots.

This cluster is similar, but I added that Hello Sunshine wood veneer piece.

I used the alpha stickers to create my title, adding some fun elements like the flamingo ephemera piece and more wood veneers. I created some interest along the side of my page as well with stickers and more woodies and enamel dots.

Oooh, and I cannot forget to show you those awesome flair buttons in this collection!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to watch for this beautiful collection at your favorite scrapbook store. It is perfect for your winter getaways vacations too.

I Love Fall and This Makes Him Happy - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

I am back with more Simple Stories Hello Fall layout inspiration. Fall is hands down my favorite season, when all the trees are in full color and my favorite pumpkin spice coffee returns. I don't think I am alone there though ... my niece looks like she definitely enjoys those colorful Autumn leaves too. This layout is titled 'I Love Fall'

I used a chevron background digital cut file from Creative Scrappers. I like it for my Fall pictures because those chevrons help mimic the movement of falling leaves. A little machine stitching over them creates some texture too. I added some fun fall phrase stickers from the combo sticker sheet.

I love the look of pure joy on my niece's face as she is tossing leaves into the air. A JustNick circle frame, cut from woodgrain paper found in the Sn@p Basics pack, and leaf die cuts frame my photo.

A combination of stickers and bits and pieces die cuts make up my title.

My second layout; 'This Makes Him Happy', documents something my nephew likes to do in the Fall, deer hunting using his bow.

Arrows from a JustNick Studios digital cut file are lined up on my background paper, another woodgrain paper from the Sn@p Basics pack. I love these woodgrain papers with the Hello Fall collection!

A 3x4 journal card helps express his love of Fall too. I used more masculine embellishments here in my clusters, like the chipboard woodpile and bits and pieces corn stalk.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Shine Bright - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I took a break from Fall layouts to do a girly one to share with you today. The beautiful new Fancy Floral Ring digital cut file from JustNick Studios reminded me of those flower wreaths they place over a horse's neck after they win a race. Well, I thought it would work well for this horse show picture of a friend of mine. I used a gold metallic cardstock to cut it out as I thought the pattern in the floral ring mimics the gold floral pattern in my friend's riding outfit. To keep the emphasis on the photo and floral ring, I decided to back the ring with vellum and place some shiny sequins underneath. They are kept in place by the machine stitching I added over the top of the ring. The papers and embellishments are from the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Free Spirit collection.

Here is a closer look at the Fancy Floral Ring digital cut file I used.

Just look at all the intricate details in this gorgeous cut file...

Bubble Fun - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with a stash busting layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studios. My nephew playing with a bubble gun this past summer was too cute to resist putting on a scrapbook layout. I primarily used the Totally Rad collection, but my background paper came from Life Is Beautiful, and embellishments from Made of Awesome were mixed with those from Totally Rad. I love that I can mix and match between collections so easily. Here is my layout...

That awesome background cut file is from JustNick Studios. Its called Retro 50's. I wanted a light blue pattern paper for my background that would somewhat mimic bubbles and chose the Happiness Is paper from Life Is Beautiful. Underneath my photo I tried to layer colors found in my photo; blue, green, and red. These pattern papers are a mix of Totally Rad and Made of Awesome. I played up the reds when choosing my embellishments. These die cut ephemera pieces are from Made of Awesome while the flair, enamel shapes, wood veneers, and woodies are from Totally Rad.

These star paper clips from Totally Rad are so fun to use!

The Totally Rad bits and pieces ephemera pack includes awesome things like this acetate word, bakers twine, a kraft tag and so much more! I even managed to use a little Hello Sunshine here ... those denim alphabet stickers I used for my title. I love the stitching detail in these stickers!

In the lower corner, more ephemera pieces layered with flair, enamel shapes, a star paper clip and wood veneers help keep my layout balanced and grounded.

Autumn Splender - JustNick Studios and Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

All week JustNick and Simple Stories designers have been showcasing the awesome JustNick Studio digital cut files with the beautiful Simple Stories Hello Fall collection. My layout uses two of the new cut files for autumn; Fall Y'all, and Leaf Cluster. I love how well these two cut files coordinate with each other. I cut both of them from a Simple Stories dark wood grain paper, then I filled the negative space behind the leaves with  different pattern papers from the Hello Fall collection. With the gorgeous leaf cluster, my layout doesn't need a lot of other embellishments

Here are some close-up detail pictures. I just love how adorable this fox is. He is a chipboard sticker from the Hello Fall collection.

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend.

Dream Come True & Girl's Night - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

All this week Simple Stories is teaming up with JustNick Studios. Today, I am using some of the JustNick digital cut files with the gorgeous Posh collection. Posh is so pretty with it's gold accents. It definitely has a classy feminine feel to it ... Posh is the perfect description for it. I decided to scrap some girly layouts with it. This first one is of my daughter at her Veterinary School white coat ceremony.

I used the Broken Heart digital cut file from JustNick Studios for the big heart behind my photo and pieced different solid colored pattern papers behind it. To create some texture, I stitched around my heart with a gold metallic thread.

The Broken Heart cut file is similar to the hearts you will find in the Posh collection. Like this sticker heart I place near my journaling.

There is a lot of gold mixed in the bits & pieces die cuts, stickers and chipboard and it really gives this collection a classy look. I used some of the clear stickers over my photo. "You Can Do Anything" was perfect! I couldn't resist using these adorable blue birds in my embellishment clusters along with some of the flower bits and pieces die cuts.

I love these tabs from the Bits & Pieces die cuts and they work so well with the phrase stickers.

The chipboard "dream" makes a dreamy title indeed and I combined it with some of the alpha stickers.

If you are interested, I made a process video for Dream Come True and you can watch it on my Youtube channel here ...

My second layout is a two-pager. I recently went to a paint night with my daughter, sister, and nieces. My first paint night ever! We had so much fun. I wanted to use lots of my photos to document the night. Who knew I could paint?

I used the JustNick Studios Infinity Hearts digital cut file to create those circles with hearts and the scallops under the photos are another digital cut file; Simple Scallop Strips.

To create my title, I used the JustNick Studios Simple  Set Alphabet and once again combined it with the alpha stickers from the Posh collection. I layered some heart chipboard stickers and some flower die cuts to help draw attention to the title.

Yes, I used more of those adorable blue birds here too... who could resist!

The Posh collection has some beautiful washi tape and I used a couple different ones on my layout. This one might be my favorite washi tape...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check back all week for more Simple Stories and JustNick Studios inspiration.
